Defibrillator training
The University Safety Office recently

headed an effort to purchase 15

additional automated external

defibrillators (AED) to add to the 12

already in service at George Mason.

An AED is a battery-powered first-aid

device for the heart that may help

someone experiencing sudden cardiac

arrest. Training with the new AEDs

was held last week at the Fairfax

Campus. Above, Claudia Young,

occupational health manager, assists

Aaron Hayes, assistant director,

building services, Johnson Center

and Student Union Operations.
