George Mason’s Arlington Campus has been recognized for the second year in a row as one of the greater Washington, D.C., region’s best workplaces for commuters. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently honored 187 employers with the designation at a ceremony in Silver Spring, Md. Upen Malani, director of Arlington Campus operations, accepted a plaque on behalf of the university. One-third of the organizations recognized are located in Arlington.
George Mason offers commuter benefits such as Metrocheks for public transportation, a telework program, and on-site bike racks to encourage alternative forms of transportation and reduce traffic congestion.
