George Mason is sponsoring a booth at the 28th annual Arlington County Fair, “Where History Comes Alive.” The fair opens the evening of Thursday, Aug. 19, and continues through Sunday, Aug. 22, at the Thomas Jefferson Community Center, 3501 South Second Street. Admission to the fairgrounds is free.
The booth, organized by Information Services, will be staffed by volunteers, including current employees and alumni. The volunteers will provide information and represent the university’s commitment to the community.
Inside the air-conditioned community center, visitors will find other free exhibits sponsored by government, nonprofit, and commercial organizations, as well as live entertainment and arts and crafts. Outside, tickets will be sold for carnival rides and games, and food from many cultures will be available for purchase.
