A student from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology is one of four winners of the Second USA Biology Olympiad that George Mason hosted in June.
As a result of her efforts, Katherine Aull of Alexandria will join high school students from California, Louisiana, and New York in the international biology Olympiad in Australia later this month. Aull was one of 20 students from 11 states who competed in this year’s finals. The original pool included 544 biology students who took the semifinal exam.
Alan Christensen, professor of biology at Mason, serves as director of the USA Biology Olympiad.
