University Foundation Board Elects Officers, Trustees

Paul E. Kyle, president, King Wholesale Inc., was reelected chairman of the George Mason University Foundation Board of Trustees at the board’s recent annual meeting. The Board of Trustees generates, manages, invests, and administers private support on behalf of George Mason University.
The board also reelected Albert Dwoskin, CEO and president, A.J. Dwoskin & Associates Inc., as vice chairman; and Carol Walcoff Dixon, president, Bellwether Research Inc., as secretary. Elected treasurer was John Norman Jr., president, Norman Realty Inc. Lovey Hammel, president, Employment Enterprises Inc., continues on the board as immediate past chairman.
William Reeder, dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts, and Donald Boudreaux, chair of the Economics Department, were appointed to academic two-year terms as dean representative and faculty representative, respectively. Judith Jobbitt is president of the foundation.
Newly elected trustees are James Hazel, principal, Angler Companies; Edwin Meese III, Ronald Reagan Distinguished Fellow in Public Policy, The Heritage Foundation; David Rehr, president, National Beer Wholesalers Association; Esther Thomas Smith, partner, Qorvis Communications; Jess Sweely, chief operating officer, AmeriChoice Corp.; and Michael Vanderpool, president, Vanderpool, Frostick & Nishanian PC.
Reelected to a second three-year term were Robert Callahan, managing director, Callahan and Associates; Benjamin Graham, president, The Graham Companies Ltd.; Gary McCollum, vice president and general manager, Cox Communications Inc.; John Milliken, partner, Venable LLP; Betty Southard Murphy, partner, Baker & Hostetler LLP; Dexter Odin, principal, Odin, Feldman & Pittleman PC; and Geoffrey Parker, executive vice president, Unisphere Inc.
Re-elected to a third three-year term were Marshall Groom, chairman, Potomac Bank of Virginia; Paul Kyle, president, King Wholesale Inc.; Carolyn Peterson, community leader; William Soza, principal, Soza Associates PC; and Ernst Volgenau, president and chief executive officer, SRA International Inc.
Callahan, Graham, Hammel, Hazel, and Rehr are George Mason University alumni.
