Just one George Mason win or one University of North Carolina-Wilmington loss over the next few days will give the Patriots baseball team the top seed in next week’s Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) tournament.
Last Saturday, senior shortstop Jeff Palumbo (administration of justice major) broke Mason’s record for single-season runs, scoring his 66th in a sweep against the University of Delaware. And, in Tuesday’s 12-3 loss to George Washington University, he broke the school’s all-time record for career hits when he lined the first pitch of the game into left field for his 265th.
The team plays at James Madison this weekend in a three-game series to close out the regular season. The CAA Tournament begins Wednesday, May 26, when the Patriots face North Carolina.
