The final evening of the 2003-04 Spotlight Speaker Series features Provost Peter Stearns speaking on “What Are Universities for, and What Is George Mason Doing about It?” The event takes place on Tuesday, April 20, at 7:30 p.m. at the Arlington County Public Library, 1015 North Quincy Street. The talk is free and open to the public.

Stearns will discuss issues concerning universities in general (accessibility, diversity, learning outcomes, research, international constraints) and George Mason University’s view on these issues, in particular, as the academic community works to define the universities of the 21st century.
