The bright yellow “Custom Coach” C-SPAN Bus will be braking at George Mason tomorrow to give its touring news presentation to communication students and other students, faculty, and staff who are interested in stopping by. From noon to 4:30 p.m. the bus will be parked behind Harris Theatre, next to SUB I building.
Forty-five feet long and hard to miss, the coach is specially outfitted with video monitors, computers, and television equipment. Half of the bus serves as a mobile classroom and the other half works as a television production studio. Presidents, governors, congressmen, and mayors have been interviewed on the bus.
Several communication classes will listen to a 15-20 minute presentation throughout the day, and others are welcome to drop by to take a look inside. The C-SPAN crew will introduce teachers and students to C-SPAN as an educational resource and also reinforce the value of cable television among the public. The crew will also discuss the 2004 presidential vote resources available on the network and online.
