Author of four novels and one collection of novellas, Robert Girardi will read at 8 p.m. Monday, March 15, in the Concert Hall Grand Tier III. The event is part of the Visiting Writers Series sponsored by the Creative Writing Program.

Girardi’s most recent novel, The Wrong Doyle, is a book about “lust, greed, historical inevitability, and putt-putt golf.” His previous novels–Madeleine’s Ghost, The Pirate’s Daughter, and Vaporetto 13–all won acclaim as serious works of literary merit that contained the best aspects of genre work. Girardi also has published a collection of novellas, A Vaudeville of Devils: 7 Moral Tales. He earned his MFA from the Iowa Writers Workshop and lives in Washington, D.C.

The reading is free and open to the public. For more information, call the English Department at 703-993-1160.
