The Center for Global Studies and the Arab Student Association present a screening of the trailer for the independent film About Baghdad today in Harris Theatre from 7 to 9 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Accompanied by a group of academics and artists, an exiled Iraqi poet, Sinan Antoon, returned to the historic city of Baghdad to see what has become of the war-torn capital. About Baghdad documents their travels on film as Antoon goes on a journey to discover the Iraqis’ views and feelings about the post-war situation in Iraq, along with the complex relationship between the United States and the new Iraq.

Filmmakers Bassam Haddad and Maya Mikdashi from Georgetown University will be on hand to present the trailer and share their experiences of being in Baghdad while filming. A discussion with the filmmakers will follow.
