Forget flowers and candy for Valentine’s Day–take your special someone to a basketball game! Saturday, Feb. 14, marks “Prince William Night at the Patriot Center,” a community appreciation night for Prince William County area residents. The basketball action gets under way at 7 p.m. when the Patriots take on the Drexel University Dragons.
“The Prince William community is a good neighbor to George Mason, and we often are invited to participate in business, government, and educational activities that offer wide exposure for the university’s mission and programs,” says Molly Hastedt, director of campus relations at the Prince William Campus. “This appreciation night is one small way the university can give back to the community for its generous support.”
Kelly Glyptis, a freshman at Stonewall Jackson High School in Manassas, will perform the national anthem, and students from the Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps program at Potomac Senior High School in Dumfries will present colors. Wristbands and trading cards are free to the first 1,000 attendees, and kids can practice their free throws and get autographs after the game.
Discounted tickets can be ordered online (enter pwc as password) for $6 and picked up at the Patriot Center on game night. Discounts are not available at the door. For additional information, call 703-993-3270.
