University Closes for Winter Holiday

George Mason University will be closed for the winter holiday from 11 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 23, until 6 a.m., Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, the official holiday period as granted by the Commonwealth of Virginia. Academic buildings on the Fairfax Campus, with the exception of David King Hall, Science and Tech I, Science and Tech II, and Robinson Hall, will be locked down during this time.
All faculty and staff members who need access to a building during the lockdown must contact the University Police Department at (703) 993-2810 for an escort. Staff members will need a key to their office and a valid George Mason faculty/staff ID card.
Students who need access for essential purposes require prior authorization by the department chair. These access lists must be sent to Capt. Fletcher Daniels, University Police, no later than 5 p.m., Friday, Dec. 19. More information and a holiday lockdown building access authorization form are available on the University Police web page.
