Gornick to Read As Part of Visiting Writers Series

Vivan Gornick, author of the memoir, Fierce Attachments, presents a reading tonight at 8 p.m. in the Bistro in the Johnson Center. The event is part of the Visiting Writers series sponsored by the Creative Writing Department.
Gornick was born and educated in New York. She began her writing career more than 30 years ago writing for the Village Voice. An early member of the feminist movement, Gornick has written numerous essays, reviews, and articles that have appeared in publications such as the Nation, the New York Times Book Review and Magazine, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, The New Yorker, and the Threepenny Review. She has written eight books and is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship.
