All faculty and staff are invited to attend the third annual Family Weekend. More than 300 students and their families are expected to participate in the event, which takes place on the Prince William and Fairfax Campuses Oct. 17-19.
Program highlights include Mason Midnight Madness, Prince William Campus Family Day, brunch with the president, academic open houses and demonstrations, sporting events, and an activities center for siblings age 8-16. A complete list of programs can be found at the Family Weekend web site.
Two faculty presentations will be featured on Saturday, Oct. 18. Alan Cheuse, English, and Peter Mandaville, Public and International Affairs, have been selected to present their work in the Mason Highlights program. Cheuse will read from his latest novella, Days Given Over to Travel, and Mandaville will speak on “The Future of Political Islam.” The program takes place from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Johnson Center Cinema.
A special Count Me In reservation offers faculty and staff and their guests discount admission to the women’s volleyball game, free admission to the movie at the Johnson Center Cinema, and free admission to the Fun Zone. More information is available through the Count Me In web site.
