George Mason is seeking volunteers and help in raising HIV/AIDS awareness by joining Team GMU for AIDS Walk Washington 2003, sponsored by The Center for Service and Leadership. The university is urging faculty, staff, students, and campus organizations to participate in the 5K walkathon benefiting the Whitman-Walker Clinic. George Mason’s goal is to raise more than $1,000 for the event.
Campus groups who commit eight participants will be added to the list of sponsors on the back of the AIDS Walk T-shirts for this year’s event. Registration is free and is available online. Plan to meet at Freedom Plaza in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 4 at 10 a.m.
