Pereira Named CAA Player of the Week

Senior standout Aline Pereira received Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) women’s volleyball player of the week honors for her performance at the Orange and Green Challenge in Coral Gables, Fla., on Sept. 11 and 12. The Patriots swept Columbia for their lone win of the weekend and fell to Miami as well as Northwestern University in three games.

Pereira posted a match-high 21 kills against Miami and recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 11 digs and a match-high 21 kills against Northwestern. She concluded play at the tournament with a match-high 15 digs and paralleled her season-high of 4 service aces in Mason’s win over Columbia. Pereira averaged 5.44 kills per game, 3.56 digs per game, and compiled a hitting percentage of .324 to garner all-tournament team honors. Pereira has amassed double-digit kills in 9 out of the Patriots’ 10 matches and also leads the conference in kills with an average of 5.55 per game.
