Equity Office Changes Name, Searches for Two New Employees

The Equity Office has changed its name to the Office of Equity and Diversity Services. The office is in the final stages of hiring an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) coordinator, a position that has remained vacant for more than two years, and a search for the position of chief equity and diversity officer is currently being advertised. This position will fill the role left vacant by the May retirement of Earl Ingram, vice president and university equity officer.
The ADA coordinator search has been narrowed to three candidates who will each give a public presentation in Harris Theatre beginning today. A question-and-answer session will follow all presentations, which begin at 1 p.m. and are open to the entire university community. Following are the names and dates for presentations.
- Paul Fuller: today
- Ruth Townsend: Sept. 22
- Emily Singer: Sept. 29
A search committee has been formed to search for the for the chief equity and diversity officer. The committee, which will begin its work at the end of this month, represents George Mason’s considerable diversity and wide array of backgrounds and experiences.
