The Department of Music’s Potomac Music Academy presents a special concert featuring the student musicians of the Chamber Music Connection and the Music Buddies Mentorship Program of the American Youth Philharmonic. The free event is held tonight at 8 p.m. in Harris Theatre.

Inaugurated this summer through a $100,000 lead gift from the Donald de Laski and Nancy de Laski Foundation, the Potomac Music Academy provides a camp-like experience for young musicians in a daytime or evening class setting. Faculty and guest artists are drawn from the musically rich capital region. A variety of performance opportunities exist within each program, including private lessons, chamber ensembles, master classes, sectionals, lectures, recitals, and concerts. Programs include the Chamber Music Connection, the Summer Woodwind Camp, the Summer Symphonic Honor Band, and the Piano Pedagogy Seminar.
