The Department of Music’s Potomac Music Academy presents two Chamber Music concerts today and tomorrow at 8 p.m. in Harris Theatre.

Tonight’s concert puts the spotlight on several chamber groups performing works by Mozart, Schumann, Borodin, and Popper. Saturday’s event features a chamber orchestra performing an all-Tchaikovsky program. Collegiate and advanced high school musicians of the Potomac Music Academy will perform both concerts, which are free and open to the public.

Inaugurated during this summer, the Potomac Music Academy provides a camp-like experience for young musicians in a daytime or evening class setting. Faculty and guest artists are drawn from the musically rich capital region. A variety of performance opportunities exist within each program, including private lessons, chamber ensembles, master classes, sectionals, lectures, recitals, and concerts. Programs include the Chamber Music Connection, the Summer Woodwind Camp, the Summer Symphonic Honor Band, and the Piano Pedagogy Seminar.
