The School of Management (SOM) will work this summer with Farr Associates Inc., a subsidiary of BB&T Bank, to bring a five-day intensive workshop to current SOM students, area executives and managers, and Mason alumni. The Intensive Executive Development Workshop (IEDW) will be offered as a pilot program on June 16-20 at the Center for Innovative Technology (CIT) near Dulles Airport.
“We are testing the program to see if it would be useful for all our executive MBA students, to develop leadership competencies in our own senior staff, and to offer it to our alumni of executive programs,” says Andres Fortino, associate dean for academic development. “If it works out, we will be doing four to five per year in Northern Virginia.”
The IEDW is an intense workshop experience for professionals. It concentrates on improving personal leadership skills in mid- to senior-level executives and experienced managers and examining state-of-the-art models and processes to increase leadership effectiveness, improve team performance, and drive organizational change.
