Ballroom dancing lessons begin today at the Johnson Center Dance Studio, located across the hall from the Bistro. Dance teacher Anne Pirron will offer the classes each Tuesday through June 24.
Beginner classes will be held from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., and intermediate and advanced classes will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The cost for the class for Mason faculty, staff, and students is $4 per hour for one person, and $6 per hour for a couple.
Classes will cover popular ballroom dances such as the foxtrot, jitterbug, waltz, cha-cha, American tango, East-Coast swing, and salsa. Continuous reviews of dance steps and dance leads will be stressed and new steps will be taught each week.
