A $500,000 commitment from the Peterson Family Foundation will provide the initial seed money to launch production of The Sesno Report, a series of public affairs programs to be broadcast on WETA public television. Frank Sesno, University Professor of Public Policy and Communication and former Emmy Award-winning CNN journalist, will host the series, which will focus on issues facing this region and beyond. A pilot program, which aired in October, spotlighted the area’s transportation challenges.
“The Sesno Report will bring together George Mason’s intellectual expertise, WETA’s commitment to quality public affairs programming, and Frank Sesno’s breadth of knowledge and experience to take viewers beyond the headlines,” says President Alan Merten.
Milton V. and Carolyn S. Peterson, longtime friends of the university, are founders of the Peterson Family Foundation. Carolyn Peterson is a George Mason University Foundation trustee and Campaign Committee member.
