Build Your Technology Expertise (BYTE) week is May 12-16, and faculty and staff can register now for workshops. New classes this year include Microsoft Office XP and multimedia sessions. Tips and Tricks of Widows and Word XP are also on the list for next week. All workshops are free and last one to three hours.
Back by popular demand are the one-hour digital imaging series hands-on workshops that include creating videos of on-screen activity, creating PDF files, streaming video on the Web, and optimizing graphic files for the Web. Working on the Internet is a popular theme next week with classes such as Web authoring, Web animation, and creating interactive multimedia. Other favorites back again are desktop publishing, workshops showcasing various Microsoft Office applications, CorporateTime Calendar, and more.
A special discussion of IT security at George Mason will be held Wednesday, May 14, from 10 a.m. to noon in the Johnson Center, Room 228.
Once again, the Information Technology Unit Training Council offers two tracks of four workshops each: planning and creating a web site and teaching with online tools. Faculty and staff can earn certificates of completion for each series and Continuing Education Units.
