The Civil, Environmental, and Infrastructure Engineering Department (CEIE) holds a seminar tomorrow featuring Robert Peskin, who will present the findings of an analysis of infrastructure condition data submitted by more than 100 transit agencies. The seminar will be held at 7 p.m. in the Johnson Center, Room D on the third floor.
The data was collected as part of the new Asset Condition Module (ACM) of the National Transit Database for all transit agencies that receive grants from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). Data from the ACM will be useful to the U.S. Department of Transportation, state departments of transportation, and the transit industry in estimating the need for future infrastructure funding.
Peskin is a senior manager at AECOM Consult Inc. and practices in the areas of transportation financing, planning, management, and operations. He has 26 years of experience serving transit agencies and local, state, and federal government agencies. He was deputy project manager for FTA’s project to improve the National Transit Database, and he designed the ACM. He holds a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Maryland, and M.S. and Ph.D. civil engineering degrees from Northwestern University.
