The annual School of Management (SOM) International Student Reception held today honors the significant role that international students play in the vitality of SOM’s educational programs. This semester, 160 international students from 60 different countries are invited to the event, which coincides with International Week.
The guest of honor will be Christiana Markert, cultural counselor for the German Embassy and supervisor of German-American educational exchange programs. The existing and proposed educational agreements between George Mason and various German universities make her visit especially noteworthy.
Dean Richard Klimoski hosts the reception, and President Alan Merten is also scheduled to attend. Other guests include Yehuda Lukacs, director of the Center for Global Education; Julia Findlay, director of International Programs and Services; and Julie Christensen, chair of the Global Research and Education Committee.
