School Supply Drive Begins

New and slightly used school supplies are being collected April 9 through Sept. 5 during the Supply Our Students school supply collection program. The program is sponsored by the College of Visual and Performing Arts and Harris Teeter stores. Over the past two years, the generosity of the George Mason community has brought a better beginning of the school year to more than 3,000 underprivileged children in the Fairfax County area.
Needed supplies include new or used backpacks/book bags, school scissors, glue bottles and sticks, 24-pack crayons, and marble notebooks. Monetary donations may be made directly to the school of your choice.
The office and student groups that collect the most supplies during the month of April will receive a gift basket of snack foods. For this contest, each backpack or book bag counts as 10 items.
