Spring Enrollment Shows Record Numbers

Preliminary spring enrollment figures show continued strong enrollment growth at George Mason. Spring enrollment, as of the beginning of term census, is higher than any other spring, with 25,957 students enrolled–1,195 (4.8 percent) higher than last spring. While undergraduate enrollment is up 3.7 percent, the strongest growth has occurred at the graduate level. The most significant increase is seen in master’s degree-seeking students–up 15.5 percent over last year. Law school enrollment is also up substantially–8.1 percent.
Final Spring 2003 census numbers will be available later this month. Headcount and FTE are expected to increase approximately 400 and 100.0, respectively, for an estimated 26,300 headcount and 17,540.0 FTE.
