George Mason’s 36th annual Commencement is May 17 at 10 a.m. in the Patriot Center. University faculty members are encouraged to join the academic procession and the celebration of the success of their students.
Commencement morning begins at 8:45 a.m. with a continental breakfast and robing for the faculty. This year will mark the beginning of a new tradition, as the procession will commence from the Johnson Center North Plaza. Meet in the Johnson Center Atrium to participate in the procession.
Faculty members may rent regalia at the Bookstore from March 10 through April 4. After April 4, faculty may order rental regalia but there will be a Federal Express late fee of $20. The rental charge for a standard cap, gown, tassel, and hood is approximately $60. Because of the limited supply, it is important to get all rental orders in early to guarantee appropriate hood color. For more information, contact Karen Eiserman at (703) 993-2666.
