Women’s Swim Team Repeats as CAA Conference Champions

The George Mason women’s team defended its conference titles by winning this weekend’s Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Swimming and Diving Championships at Jim McKay Natatorium on the Fairfax Campus. The men finished in third place.

George Mason head coach Peter Ward was selected Men’s Coach of the Year and shared the Women’s Coach of the Year honor with University of North Carolina at Wilmington’s (UNCW) Dave Allen.

George Mason had two individual winners, as Stefani Lubore won the women’s 200-yard backstroke (2:03.76) and David Cooper claimed the men’s 200-yard breaststroke (2:01.87).

The final women’s team standings are George Mason-635, UNC Wilmington-590, and William & Mary-443; the final men’s team standings are UNCW-715, James Madison-612, and George Mason-576.
