The School of Public Policy and Capital IIT Alumni Association invite the George Mason community to hear Gurcharan Das speak on “Beyond India Unbound” tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Arlington Campus Original Building, Room 329.

The talk will cover the national competitiveness and the sacred and philosophical concerns of the average Indian consequent to India’s entry into what Das calls the “age of liberation.” Divided into three sections, the talk will establish a context for the changes that have occurred, assess how Indians have changed or not changed in their public and private lives, and examine the individual beliefs and aspirations that underpin the process of economic and social development. Das will capture both the disappointments and the joys that resulted from the ’90s revolution. His talk will try to serve as a guide to the new India.

The event is free. For more information, contact Raghava Karanam at (703) 993-8132 or visit the event’s web site.
