The Staff Senate is seeking nominations for prospective senators. Senators, who must be either classified staff members or nonstudent wage employees, will serve a two-year term and be required to attend the regularly scheduled general Staff Senate meetings. In addition, senators will be assigned to serve on a committee that will meet regularly.
The Staff Senate is the official body that represents all classified and nonstudent wage employees at George Mason. Some of the primary goals of the organization are to facilitate communication among staff members; foster a spirit of unity and cooperation; keep open lines of communication with the president, the faculty, and the students of the university; and act as an advocate for the George Mason staff by bringing their concerns to the attention of the appropriate body and following through to resolution.
Nominations may be made by any classified or nonstudent wage employee. All nominees will be contacted before names are placed on the ballot. Nominations forms, available on the Staff Senate web site, must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14.
