The Department of Environmental Science and Policy earned first place in the Winterfest 2002 Office/Door Decorating Contest. The department door included a map of the world with pictures of staff showing where they intend to spend their winter vacation.

This year’s theme was “What I plan to do over my winter vacation.” After visiting the offices to see the decorations, “it is obvious that a lot of thought, time, and energy went into helping spread some Mason spirit for the winter season and end of the semester,” says Cyndra Flynn, assistant director of programming for Student Activities.

Information Services won the second place award. Their door has a homework assignment asking what you plan to do over winter vacation with essay responses, and the office is decorated to mirror the answers. University Life/Johnson Center Programming earned third place.

Honorable mentions were awarded to Parking Services for being the most enthusiastic, and to the Office of Student Financial Aid for encouraging student participation.
