Hunger and Homelessness Action Week 2002 is now underway through Sunday, Nov. 24, at George Mason. Sponsored by the Campus Ministry Association, this campaign is an opportunity for students and staff to help the homeless over the coming holiday season by donating money and items ranging from canned food and blankets to toiletry items and clothes. The drop off point in the Johnson Center, Room 116, is located next to the Bookstore.
Additionally, a number of events are scheduled to promote the charity drive and raise awareness for the plight of the homeless and poor. The activities include a hunger concert at noon today in the Bistro; a hunger banquet at 6 p.m. on Nov. 21 in the Johnson Center Dewberry Hall; and a walk for the homeless beginning at 8 a.m. on Nov. 23.
