White House Correspondent Speaks Thursday

Helen Thomas, former White House correspondent, will be speaking, answering questions, and signing copies of her book Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Johnson Center Dewberry Hall. The George Mason Bookstore sponsors the event.

Thomas has been a correspondent and journalist for more than 30 years and received numerous awards for her work. Thomas was the first woman officer of the National Press Club and the first female president of the White House Correspondents Association. She has the distinction of having traveled around the world with Presidents Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, and George H. Bush. Thomas has also received 26 honorary doctoral degrees from several American universities.
