George Mason hosts a community forum featuring Virginia Attorney General Jerry Kilgore today from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Mason Hall Boardroom. A panel of experts will discuss sexual assault and domestic violence.
The overall goal is to generate more interest within Virginia about the two topics; to educate citizens, service providers, and legislators about these issues; and to provide the audience with an opportunity to support the George Mason community and voice questions and comments in support of victims of sexual assault or domestic violence.
In addition to Kilgore, the panel includes Carol Corcoran, Mary Washington University; John Holloway, Hunton and Williams; Janet Howell, Virginia Senate; Connie Kirkland, coordinator of George Mason’s Sexual Assault Services; Ruth Micklem, co-director, Virginians Against Domestic Violence; Greer Saunders, Office of the Attorney General; and Jean Woodruff, director, Virginians Against Domestic Violence. The panel will explore gaps in services for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence and the best practices for providing these services.
