Visiting Writers Series Continues Tonight

While the Fall for the Book Festival brought a record number of writers to campus this month, the Visiting Writers Series continues this semester with the appearance of three authors.
Author, columnist, and editor Elissa Schappell will read tonight at 8 p.m. in Dewberry Hall South. Schappell is the author of the “Hot Type” column for Vanity Fair and also writes for Vogue, GQ, and Spin. She is a cofounder of the literary magazine Tin House and has published a collection of stories titled Use Me.
Poet C.S. Giscombe will read Monday, Nov. 4 at 8 p.m., in the Grand Tier Lobby of the Concert Hall. Giscombe is the author of the collections Giscome Road, Here, and Postcards. He teaches at Penn State.
Reporter Nan Robertson will appear Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 8 p.m. in the Grad Tier Lobby of the Concert Hall. A Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter for the New York Times, Robertson is author of The Girls in the Balcony: Women, Men and The New York Times, a book about women fighting for equal opportunity at the New York Times. She teaches journalism at the University of Maryland.
