This week, members of the university community have the opportunity to show their Patriot pride by representing George Mason in the inaugural Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Blood Challenge. The drive, hosted by Intercollegiate Athletics and the Student Senate, will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 22 and 23, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the Quad.
As part of the challenge, all 10 CAA member schools are holding their own campuswide blood drives, and the school that registers the most donors, whether or not the donors are cleared to give blood at that time, will be awarded a trophy.
Inova Blood Donor Services will provide two vans for donations. Appointments are encouraged, and can be made by calling (703) 993-3594 and leaving your name, the time you would like to schedule your donation, and a phone number where you can be contacted for appointment confirmation. Walk-in donations will be accepted as time and space permit. An average donation lasts about 30 minutes, but donors should allow up to an hour for their appointment. Donors will be given a special event T-shirt.
