The Arlington Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the Business Development Assistance Group (BDAG) cosponsor a seminar, “Continuity of Operations Planning for Small Businesses,” on Thursday, Oct. 17, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Original Building, Room 244, at the Arlington Campus.
The event is part of the Post-9/11 Attack Business Assistance Program, a series of seminars funded by the Virginia Department of Business Assistance through the Mason Enterprise Center that helps small businesses prepare for emergencies and recover from disaster.
The seminar is presented by the Centech Group, a provider of government information technology systems and solutions for a wide range of military and civilian programs. The speaker is Domi Sanchez, a certified information systems security professional for the Centech Group and the lead adjunct professor responsible for developing and teaching courses in information assurance at Johns Hopkins University.
Topics of discussion will include disaster recovery plans and how small businesses can prepare for the worst; the steps necessary to create a continuity of operations plan; and critical questions business owners should ask their insurers. A question-and-answer session will follow the discussion.
The seminar is free, but seating is limited and registration is required. RSVP by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org or by fax to (703) 993-8130. For more information, contact BDAG at (703) 993-8127 or the Arlington SBDC at (703) 993-8128.
