The ThunderDorm Campus Technology Tour comes to George Mason today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Quad. The nationwide tour, which reaches 23 campuses in 33 days, demonstrates the latest in consumer technology for the college lifestyle, and features on-campus entertainment, sponsored activity tents, and interactive product demonstrations.
More than 15 sponsors are showcasing their products, allowing students hands-on experience with the latest technologies. A number of sponsors will provide electronic prizes to be awarded to students onsite, with one lucky student winning the grand prize–the ultimate dorm room, a fully furnished room courtesy of IKEA, complete with an A/V receiver, a DVD player, a home theater speaker system, an MP3 player, headphones, a desktop computer, a universal remote, a PDA, and a cell phone.
Another attraction is the BuzzNet Audio Pavilion where BuzzNet’s interactive experience showcases the latest in consumer audio equipment from companies such as Yamaha, Pioneer, e.Digital, Bantam Interactive, SSI America, and Digital Innovations. The pavilion will also house a gaming area by PlayStation2 and Altec Lansing Technologies as well as the Surround Sound Annex showcasing products from Aperion Audio, Denon Electronics, and Toshiba.
The CEA Wireless Pavilion features six kiosks with various wireless platforms that allow communication between the kiosks and other outside areas. Wireless products from Sprint, Palm, Plantronics, and Jabra are highlighted.
