Patriot Soccer Ranked Regionally and Nationally

The George Mason men’s and women’s soccer teams are well represented in conference, regional, and national statistics and polls this week.
On the men’s side, the Patriots are ranked 12th in the nation for team goals-against average at 0.56 and their winning percentage of .900 ties for 14th in the country. At 4-0-1, George Mason is off to its best start since opening 7-0-1 in 1996, and it is ranked 5th in the South Atlantic Region after moving into the rankings at No. 6 last week.
Sophomore goalkeeper John O’Hara leads the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) and the South Atlantic Region and is ranked 14th in the nation with a 0.56 goals-against average. He also ranks 3rd in the region with 24 saves and is 4th in the CAA with 4.8 saves per game.
The George Mason women (2-3 overall, 1-0 CAA) have sophomore Sarah Wilkinson and senior Caroline Kent at the top of the CAA scoring list. Wilkinson ranks second with 1.75 points per game, and Kent is tied for 3rd with 1.5 points per game. The duo share the Patriot team lead with three goals. Senior Katy Robertson, who has moved into a tie for 2nd on Mason’s all-time assist list with Sherry Worsham at 35, leads the Patriots with three assists and is tied for 5th in the CAA with 0.60 per game.
