Pereira Selected CAA Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week

George Mason women’s volleyball player Aline Pereira was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) player of the week Monday.
Pereira, a junior outside hitter, recorded a .385 hitting percentage and averaged 6.50 kills per game in wins over Virginia Commonwealth and William and Mary this past weekend. The victories gave the Patriots a 2-0 start to league play and improved the team’s overall record to 6-3.
Against Virginia Commonwealth, Pereira, who entered the weekend leading all NCAA Division I players with an average of 6.38 kills per game, led the Patriots with 23 kills and 10 digs. She hit .304 and also added a service ace and a block assist.
In the contest against defending conference champion William and Mary, Pereira hit .385 and posted a match-high 26 kills. She also had six digs and four service aces.
