“Building for Excellence” is the theme of this year’s fall convocation, to be held tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. in the Johnson Center’s Dewberry Hall. President Alan Merten and Provost Peter Stearns will jointly discuss several topics, including the current budget crisis within Virginia and its impact on George Mason, the university’s 2007 Master Plan, this year’s higher education bond referendum, and current research at George Mason.
According to Merten, one of the primary goals of the convocation is to acknowledge all who contribute to the university’s growth in size and stature.
This year’s convocation is open to the entire campus community. Minutes from the March 6, 2002, meeting of the general faculty are available online.
