George Mason will no longer use the expanded version of its ZIP Code, also referred to as “ZIP+4.” ZIP Codes for each campus are as follows:

  • Fairfax: 22030
  • Arlington: 22201
  • Prince William: 20110

To help with efficient mail delivery, the U.S. Postal Service began using the four-digit add-on to identify a geographic segment within the five-digit delivery area. However, the U.S. Postal Service does not deliver George Mason’s mail. Rather, George Mason Mail Services goes to the local post office to pick up campus mail, brings it back to campus to sort, and distributes it by mail stop number. The “ZIP+4” extension is irrelevant to George Mason’s campuses.

This style change will be followed on university publications, business cards, and stationery. The “ZIP+4” extension will remain on all Business Reply Mail.
