ICAR Lecture Analyzes Resolution Readiness

Dean G. Pruitt, visiting scholar at the Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution (ICAR) will present this week’s Brown Bag Lecture, “Ripeness for Conflict Resolution: Is It a Useful Concept?” The lecture is held today at noon.
Pruitt, distinguished professor emeritus at the University of Buffalo, The State University of New York, is a psychologist who has expertise in the fields of social conflict, the processes of escalation and de-escalation of conflict, and negotiation. He is currently revising his book, written with J.Z. Rubin, Social Conflict: Escalation, Stalemate, and Settlement.
The discussion is part of ICAR’s series of informal lectures on research and practice of conflict resolution and is held in the ICAR Main Conference Room, A401, located at 4260 Chain Bridge Road in Fairfax.
