Prince William Campus Hosts Health Fair Today

A mini health fair, sponsored by Student Health Services, is held today from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Prince William I, Room 110A. The following screenings and activities will be available:

  • Cholesterol screening (total cholesterol and HDL), $10
  • Blood sugar level screening, $2
  • Heart disease risk and assessment
  • Body composition analysis, conducted by Freedom Center staff
  • Freedom Center membership options for George Mason faculty and staff
  • Smoking cessation information and campus resources
  • Sun safety awareness
  • Counseling Center services, information, and resources
  • Substance abuse program and services information

Other events include an interactive counseling session from 2 to 3 p.m. in Prince William I, Room 202F, with Ralph Roberts, director of the Counseling Center, using conferencing capabilities between the Prince William Campus and the Fairfax Counseling Center. An open forum/brown bag lunch with Mary Ann Braun, director of the Health and Wellness Center, is offered from noon to 1 p.m. in Room 203.
