Alibek Lectures on Inhalation Anthrax Tonight

Kenneth Alibek, distinguished professor of medical microbiology, director of George Mason’s new Center for Biodefense, and president of Advanced Biosystems Inc., will speak on the immunopathogenesis and pathologic anatomy of inhalational anthrax as part of the Biology Department’s Distinguished Lecture Series. The lecture takes place tonight in the Johnson Center Cinema at 7:30 p.m. Alibek will discuss the need to re-examine and revise current theories on the role of anthrax toxin to identify what has been missed in the field of protection and treatment against anthrax infections.
