Student Government President Bennett Smith has announced plans to create a new subcommittee of the City University Committee (CUC) to facilitate George Mason’s relationship with the City of Fairfax and Fairfax County.

Smith says the subcommittee will create a forum that allows students direct access to city and county officials in a professional setting to discuss any situation that arises between students and city and county residents.

Smith is developing the subcommittee with City Council member and George Mason alumnus Jeff Greenfield, who will serve as chairman. Others expected to have a permanent seat from the university include Smith; Karen Rosenblum, vice president for University Life; and Traci Claar, Community Relations coordinator.

“I look forward to continuing to work with the student body and welcome their involvement and interest in the city-university relationship,” says Greenfield.
