Visiting Writers Series Closes with Lewis

The Visiting Writers Series comes to a close tonight with award-winning poet Lisa Lewis reading at 8 p.m. in the Johnson Center, Assembly Room B. Her first book, The Unbeliever, won the 1994 Brittingham Prize, and her second collection, Silent Treatment: Poems, was chosen by Stanley Plumy for this year’s National Poetry Series.
Lewis’ poems have been anthologized in Best American Poetry 1993 and 1995. She is also the winner of a 1994 Pushcart Prize and the 1994 Jessica Nobel Maxwell Prize. She is director of the creative writing program and associate professor of creative writing and poetry at Oklahoma State University.
