The 2002-03 Fenwick Fellow program is now accepting applications, and the competition is open to all faculty members at George Mason, including restricted and adjunct faculty, and others teaching for the university. The deadline for applications is Friday, April 12, and the selections will be announced in early May.

The fellowship provides a $1,500 stipend for research materials, along with a fully equipped research office in Fenwick Library. The stipend supports research costs associated with acquisition of library materials needed for the fellow’s research, as well as incidental costs such as copying, research assistant support, and conference costs specifically required for the fellow’s research project. Fellows are encouraged to use at least half the stipend for purchasing books, journals, or multimedia materials, which will be added to the University Libraries’ permanent collection. Projects that make special use of the libraries’ collections and services are encouraged.

The Fenwick Fellowship Program is sponsored by the Office of the University Librarian in consultation with the Faculty Senate Facilities, Support Services, and Libraries Committee.

Guidelines for application are available online. For more information, contact Anne Hamill at x32491 or ahamill2@gmu.edu.
