Student Senate Establishes Guidelines For Elections

The Student Senate passed a resolution establishing the required number of signatures needed for candidates to be eligible for positions within Student Senate, including the Student Government president and vice-president.
According to the resolution, candidates for Student Government president and vice-president need a minimum of 300 signatures to be placed on the ballot. Candidates for the Senate must have signatures from at least two percent of the total number of students enrolled in their respective school or college. Thus, a student from the College of Arts and Sciences would need many more signatures than one from the College of Visual and Performing Arts, which enrolls a much smaller number of students.
